What a great play! This is the best one at this year's PlayRites. The acting was excellent. I hope the three actors didn't succumb to hypothermia after the opening!
This is a first -- no simple dipping toes daintily in the water for these three talented actresses. They are doused and submerged by the element as their story is birthed and they reclaim themselves from a dark man and paternalistic time in history. Cleverly written, comic, astonishing, and gripping with fabulous set design by Brette Gereke (Rigoletto design) lights, and directing. A must see!
Absolutely AMAZING! AMAZING! AMAZING! The performances by all 3 ladies and the mirad of characters they played...all believable. You could feel the confusion and pain of their circumstance. The storyline...the period...all the props that were revealed and their use of the props. The use of the water and shower heads sent chills through my body. All I was waiting for was the hanging at the end!! STANDING O from the audience!!! The quality of this play and the actresses should be in New York...we are so honoured to have seen it in Calgary.
The highlight of the Festival for me! How appropriate to view it on International Women's Day!
This play was outstanding. Kudos to the set designer as well as the three talented actors who brought so much life (and death) to the script. They worked seamlessly with the water to bring it into the play like another character. Fantastic directing also. Congrats to this talented playwright.
